The 6 BEST Clothing Boutiques In Aspen, Colorado

aspen boutiques

Aspen, Colorado is a beautiful mountain town famous for its cute, walkable downtown and extravagant shopping. When I was there this last Christmas, I walked around the corner and saw Mariah Carey being photographed by paparazzi. Rumor has it that the Kardashian family was there as well. Needless to say, there are plenty of trendsetters that shop in Aspen… including you!

Aspen boasts a vibrant shopping landscape. Nestled among famed luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Valentino, and Prada, you’ll discover a treasure trove of unique boutiques catering to those seeking high-end stylish finds. Using my extensive knowledge of Aspen’s retail offerings, I’m well-equipped to guide you to the hidden gems where chic treasures await.

If you’re in Aspen, consider exploring the outdoorsy town of Basalt down the road. Here we put together a list of fun things to do in the summertime there.

Aspen Shopping Hacks

  • Have the store ship the clothing to your house. This will save you the sales tax and it will save room in your suitcase! The sales tax in Aspen is 9.3% which usually equates to more than shipping costs.
  • If you are in need of a cashmere sweater, look for the Autumn Cashmere brand at Marcus and Pitkin County Dry Goods. Their sweaters are usually around $200. (Most of the cashmere sweaters are between $350-$600.)
  • Make sure to dress cute to go shopping! The retail associates are more helpful if you look put together.
  • Ask a retail associate for a bottle of water if you’re thirsty. Most stores give out small bottles of water to customers for free! Make sure to stay on top of drinking water while you are visiting Colorado. It is much easier to get dehydrated if you aren’t used to the high altitude.

Now without further adieu…

The best Clothing Boutiques in Aspen Colorado:

Pitkin County Dry Goods

520 E Cooper Ave

Pitkin County Dry Goods has the widest selection of clothes, shoes, belts, and jewelry for both women and men. If you are looking to revamp your whole wardrobe Pitkin County Dry Goods is the place to go. It is the closest thing to a department store Downtown Aspen has to offer. Pitkin County Dry Goods is jam-packed with clothes (and people) so it can be overwhelming. But there are several retail associates who can help you find things. The store sells items at different price points. For example, there was a pair of $120 pleather jeans and there was also a pair of leather jeans that were $800.

Marcus

501 E Hyman Ave

Marcus is my favorite clothing boutique in Aspen because it has the best atmosphere. The store is laid out very well so it doesn’t feel overstuffed; there are a variety of women’s clothes and home decorations like coffee table books. Marcus has clothes for both older and younger women. For example, Mom could get a silk blouse while her daughter could get a funky t-shirt. When I go to Marcus, I typically get a couple CottonCitizen t-shirts (which are around $100 a piece). These shirts are solid colors but are dyed in a unique way that gives a subtle tie-dye effect. Marcus also has a lot of vintage-looking band tees and sweaters.

Kemo Sabe

217 S Galena St

Kemo Sabe is a Western Wear boutique that carries boots and hats for women, men, and children. The store itself is super cool so it is still worth going into even if you aren’t into Western clothing. There is a giant jewelry case in the middle of the store that has turquoise and diamond jewelry. Not all of their jewelry is super Western-looking. The walls of the store have floor-to-ceiling shelves of cowboy boots and hats. They are known for their hat bar where they have hat bands and accessories. Kemo Sabe has cowboy hats that start at $350 and their boots start at $500.

Aviator Nation

308 S Mill St

Aviator Nation is a California-lifestyle brand known for its colorful t-shirts, puffer jackets, hoodies, and sweatpants. They also sell neutral-colored Aspen, Colorado t-shirts, hats, and hoodies. Aviator Nation is easily recognizable by the rainbow stripes that are stitched onto many of their hoodies and sweatpants. The adult hoodies and sweatpants are around $200 while the t-shirts are around $80.

Aviator Nation’s boutique store is reminiscent of a ski lodge, and it’s the place to go to outfit yourself to ski and snowboard in style!

Rag and Bone

433 E Hyman Ave

Rag and Bone is a denim brand that sells casual, everyday clothing for men and women. I really like their selection of men’s clothing, specifically their button-down shirts. Men who have an edgy style would like this store. I am less into their women’s clothing since it is a bit conservative and preppy for me. If you’re shopping “for him” this store is worth going into. The button-down shirts are around $200. Rag and Bone always has a sales rack across from the dressing rooms.

Aspen Thrift Store

422 E Hopkins Ave

The Aspen Thrift Store is by far the cheapest option in Aspen. The small store has a selection of both men’s and women’s clothing. They are open from 10 am to 3 pm Monday-Saturday. I’ve only been once and it was on a Saturday right before they closed. When I went, there wasn’t anything nicer than you may find in a typical thrift store but the prices were a bit higher. I’m sure that if you went at the beginning of the week, there may be nicer things that would reflect the higher price.
